Whew! Glad that’s over. All joking aside, one of the biggest sports events in the world is coming to Atlanta next week! You know the one we’re talking about. The one where New England is playing Los Angeles. Going forward, we’ll just refer to it as “the big game”. If you’re heading into town to take part in the football festivities, we’ve compiled a list fun activities for you. And some of them are free and open to the whole family!

Atlanta Activities Leading Up to The Big Game

Want tickets to the big game at Mercedes Benz Stadium next weekend? It’s still not too late! As of right now, they’re still available and starting at just under $3,000 per ticket. If that’s a bit steep, don’t worry! Your whole family can still have plenty of fun on a budget!

For starters, the Georgia World Congress Center is hosting an interactive NFL theme park from Saturday, January 26th through Saturday, February 2nd. Tickets start at only $20, and from Monday through Wednesday only, each adult ticket purchased includes complimentary entry for up to three kids 12 years old and under! Try your hand (er…foot) at kicking a field goal, test your mettle in a number of football drills, take a picture with the real championship trophy, and get autographs from some of the best to ever play the game!

Right next door in Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta’s host committee for the big game is building a “fan village” that is free to the public! This outdoor fair will be open the same dates as above. Come by to experience food, beverages, and football-related attractions from over a dozen sponsors, such as Ford, Verizon, Tostito’s, Hyundai and more. Lastly, on certain days there will be a stage with free concerts from a variety of bands and recording artists. Check out the site for more details!

Now you’ve got an idea of just a few special events going on around town this week! If you’re a big football fan, keep in mind that this opportunity only comes around every couple decades! This marks only the 3rd time Atlanta has hosted the big game, and the first time since 2000.
